The CAT9 is a true stalwart within the world of USSSA Baseball. It has a 1-piece, all-alloy design, and specifically, the bat is going to be made from Marucci’s AZR Alloy material. Marucci gets after it when designing the alloy for their bats and this AZR material is no exception. The alloy undergoes a 3-stage thermal treatment process that ultimately produces a bat with a better feel, more forgiveness and more performance. 
As well, Marucci bucks the common thought that a one-piece bat is going to sting the batter’s hands on a miss-hit. They have built this CAT9 with their AV2 anti-vibration knob and it keeps nearly all vibrations out of the handle of the bat. When a player swings this one-piece bat, they’ll get to enjoy the stiff feel at contact with the baseball. As well, they’ll enjoy a sting-free experience that is just as good as what is felt when using multi-piece bats.
This bat will be a Junior Big Barrel model. Therefore, it is going to have the USSSA stamp and feature the largest-allowed 2-3/4″ barrel diameter. It is really only designed for coach pitch and machine pitch leagues where pitch speeds do not exceed 40-45 mph. We would really recommend avoiding kid pitch leagues with this bat. If there is a pitcher who can toss it a little harder, the bat could be at risk of breaking down.
