When a batter swings with a weighted training bat, their hope is to ultimately gain strength and bat speed. However, with most weighted training bats, the extra weight is placed in the barrel. While the batter is going to gain some strength from swinging these typical weighted bats, their mechanics will usually suffer. That extra weight in the barrel is usually just a little too much for the player to maintain correct mechanics while swinging.
The B45 Two-Hand Training Bat has arrived to solve this issue. This B45 model does have extra weight added to the bat. However, it won’t be in the barrel where it has more of a chance of negatively affecting the batter’s swing mechanics. B45 has placed the extra weight in the bat’s taper. That placement should allow the bat to feel heavier when swinging. However, the weight should not feel overwhelming and cause negative swing habits.
Ultimately, when this B45 Trainer is swung with proper mechanics, the bat will probably feel slightly difficult to handle, but not overly so. Comparatively, when the bat is swung with improper mechanics, it will be very obvious, as the bat will be extremely difficult to handle. If you are able to consistently train with the bat using correct mechanics over multiple weeks, then you will gain strength and start seeing increased velocity off the barrel of your bat!
